The blog adventures

The week is almost over again. This week we had many interesting lectures. We had also guest lectures Terhi Aho From Tulos and Joanna Purosto. Joanna was from MMAliitto and she spoke us about MMA and her own work life. She pressured us to network much.  It was nice to hear lectures like these. We also get the change to join that union free and of course i did it. Terhi aho spoke about search engines and content marketing. She told global search engines market shares. Google was by far the winner next was Baidu but it had only 17% while google had 69%. Here you can see a picture of the diagram.

Search Engine optimization involves three parts. Those are content, technology and links. For Example if you want that someone can find your website or blog you have to link your address to everywhere. When Google can find it on many places and someone search something what affiliate it, Google recommend it on first page.

Google wants to be your personal assistant. That was a point of this week.

Group work of week was to use Hubspot marketing grader. Hubspot is an inbound marketing software platform that helps companies attract visitors, convert leads and close customers. We need to make a presentation of Digipeople and two competitors, also their Hubspot results. We made an animation. Here you can watch our presentation.

On Thursday we had two lectures from Ilkka Kurkela and Bishnu Rana. Bishnus presentation was about lead nurturing. Second lecture was Ilkkas and it was amazing because he made it with Periscope so everyone outside the lecture was able to watch it on webstream. 

We also got a  task for blog post. We needed to choose five blogs from our course and read them. Then we needed to mention them here and write a blog about what they have learned or did they have good points or ideas on their blog. And also give positive and constructive feedbags of those blogs. So here is five blogs I've chosen.

This is Johannas blog. Her blogs appearance is nice and clear. I think her blog posts are short but contain much facts. Maybe she could write more in detail. She has nice pictures on posts. Johannas blog is also advanced much during the first weeks. She told Faysals lecture taught to her much about taking pictures and editing.

Next one was Ninas blog. Her blogs front page was so visual but it takes a while to find her blog texts.  She is writes lot of and interesting texts. Her blog is so visual and she is posting nice pictures. I liked much her post of different cultures.

Then I read Annas blog which appearance is clear and harmonic. She had lot of pictures of different topics, I liked it! She can also write in an interesting way. But one think I was wondering is why does she have only five blog post?

Lasses blog is simple and clear. Easy to read. His texts are short but tight. Maybe I was hoping for more pictures. His cultural bag is made with visual appearance.

Last but not least is Teemus blog. His blogs name is funny:D! His has wrote soooooo much! Hi is so good writer and his text are educational. He could use more pictures,a lot more. It would make his blog more interesting. His cultural bag was awesome, I liked pics of it. He told extensively about Nordic business forum. He watched NBF on live stream.

Autumn holiday

Yay! This post is so short but I have good explanation for it. On this week we had a autumn holiday. The hole week. So we haven't had school or any tasks or projects. Because our group got ready on last weeks group project. It is good that sometimes we can take it easy. Then it is nice to continued school again. 

I didn't have a plans for this week. I loved it when i had so much time. I was out a lot with my dog and met my friends and family. Of course I did some school stuff from other course.

I decided to take an extra course of content marketing to this fall. I don't know but it feels a bit hard and stressful to me. I struggle all the time should I quit it. We will see it.

It was nice to be on holiday but I like so much to do videos with my group. So I am waiting next school day when we can start plan new video :) !

Content marketing - groupwork

Digital marketing course continued again on Monday. I had checked course schedule and noticed that we have lertures by Pekka Tuominen from Digi people and our digital coach Faysal Hasan. I waited this Monday with joy because I am so interested about making a videos and photography.

FTS13 working

Pekka told us about what kind of video or advertisement is a perfect and why you have to make more and more videos. Videolibrary have to be up to date and they should add new material evenly and several times a week.

Here is little summary of Pekkas teaching. The contens of a video has to be interesting. Ihas to have humor and drama. Making a video is quite cheap. If you want to sell your video or advertisement ideas you have to publish your work. People have to find themeasy, not from behind the links. The work has to be on Youtube so it's visible to people.Videos should not be similiar, them can be different. When you record some kind of film you have to have the best quality. Good equipments ensures good quality. Video author must have the courage to throw himself. The best way is be a bold and distinctive. These were good remarks to people who want to make a video.

Faysal spoke of photography. First I thought that he was going to teach how you should take different photos. It would been nice to hear but he told about his own photography. Of course it was interesting to hear about it. He told a little bit about cameras and lenses. Faysal showed his portfolio and there were so many great pictures.

FTS13

Like you can see at theheadline our this week group work was about content marketing. We had to analyze 3 companies. Companies have to be in same kind of industry than our project company Digi People. We had to analyze their web-site, some and other possible content platforms. And at last we had to answer to couple of questions. 

Our group started to plan the task on Monday. We wanted to make a film again. I think that we figure out quite soon what are we going to do. Our chosen to companies are Digi People of course and also Superclick and oneminstory. Those all are video producers. They make videos to different people and companies. We had again so fun with our team FTS13. This time I was behind the camera. It was a nice variation. But I think it's funnier to be in front of camera ;)

On Wednesday we didn't have a  normal day at school. We had "Net work to get work" event at Laurea Leppävaara. We all have to participate in two different lectures. First lecture was about itself branding. It was quite ok. Not so much new information, but repetition is the mother of learning ;) ! Second lecture was about one business woman who told just about her work life. It was nice to hear but it was not so interesting.

First week with Companies

Monday started with companies presentations about their companies. Our group knew that our company would be Digi People Oy. We heard many other interesting presentations from different companies. There were representatives of lacy box, urakkamaailma.fi, seniori365, celectus etc. Pekka Tuominen is Digi People Oy's CEO. He was presented to us and he is like project manager to our group. Last post i told that i am so excited because our group got Digi People Oy to our company.

Digi People Studio is a company that makes promotional videos to other companies for their products. DPS is the best company which we can get. Our group love to make videos and even so it takes so much time we want to do it. That's why it's so brilliant that we get company like that because now we are going to learn more about planning videos and how to make them.

After Mondays lecture our group and other group met Pekka Tuominen in Ulappa meeting room. Pekka told us what we are going to do in this spring with him.At first we have to
choose between three companies that which one we would like to make promotional video. After that we send our plan to Pekka and then he chooses one company of those three. Then we make a synopsis to that company and then we hope that our advertisement go through. The best thing about that is if our plan is good and our decided company approves it, it may be implemented in the correct advertisement. We are doing to do our best and hope it is enough.

A road trip

On Tuesday we did all our tasks and then we thought about what we are going to do on Wednesday. So FTS13 left for a road trip to Porvoo. We drove to Porvoo and we visited in brungerg, that is the candy factory. We also visited in Peten koiratarvike shop. It is good for the team spirit to do the someting liberating.

Thursday

On Thursday we had a short day at school. Only two hours. At the first hour we had guest lecturer Jyri Rasinmäki from Vapamedia. His lecture was about problem solving. His style to speak was inspirational and so interesting.  He had so much good points. One of good points was; Intuition= knowledge + reaction + social intelligence. You can find a picture under.

After Jyris lecture about problem solving we had short presentations on every groups companies and what we have to do in the future. Surprise that our team made a video again. It was only about 2min but we liked it. Here you can see it.

The first partition is over

This digital marketing course started after summer vacation. Time flows so fast because we have had so much fun. Next week we get our companies. I expect a lot of it when we will begin to work with them. I have heard that we will got company named Digi peoples. But I don't tell yet more about it. You will hear about our company and our week in next post. :)

Team FTS13 working

We had again guest lecturer on Monday. His name was Tomasz Odrobinski. He told us about his jobs and what he has done retrace. I think that his lecture was useful to students who work with Tomaszs company. Interesting and new stuff what he told was Google AdWords. I have never heard about it. Google AdWords is free and you can advertise your company. You just have to pay if you get customers with it.

In this week we all had to make a presentations and teach other groups. We decided make it of video marketing. Our choice was the best to our group because we have made a new video every week. we wanted to make a very good video. We started planning it on Monday and we made it from Tuesday to Wednesday. The video had to be ready on Wednesday but we were not ready yet so we had to ask more time to do it. Hopefully we get more time and we get it ready on Thursday. I am so proud of my team. Go FTS13! We get also new teammate Ria. She was in our team in last project. We should take new group photos. There is a link to our video:

Other groups made presentations about their projects, how to make good blog, how to make LinkedIn and growth hacking. Useful presentations were LinkedIn and about blogs. I learned thinks what i didn't know before.

''Ut på tur, aldri sur''

This week was full of different cultures. New week started on Monday with lecture about cultures. I already checked out ready what we have in this week and i was so anxiously waiting it. Our teacher Anna told us what kind of culture differences there are. She is also from Poland, so she told us much about Polish culture. It was so interesting. The biggest confusion was when Anna told that in some culture people blow their noses directly on the ground and they think it is disgusting to use tissue with it and put it on pocket. I would never even think to sneeze just to the floor. Different cultures have many sort of ways to eye contacts and to greeting and it was nice to learned about those.

In Monday we had guest lecturer Lynn-Marie Sederlöf-Airisto. It was so nice and educational to get guest lecturer! She told first about herself and what kind of jobs she have done. Lynn-Marie told us about International marketing. She have company named Lacy box and she given homework to us. We had to find out information about Lacy box a in Finnish market. We made a report to her. The report contained for example do Finnish men buy lingerie for wives and will Finns understand the concept of a subscription box?

Our third week project work was to decide a country and search the countries cultural ways. In Thursday we had presentations. Other groups told us about different countries and cultures, it was amazing to get to know about cultures for example Spain, Lithuanian and Albanian. Our group FTS13 decided to take Norway. Because one of our group member was living in Norway and she knew much about it. Surprise we made another video again. It took so much time but it was worth it. Our team spirit is excellent! We always come up with really good ideas and implement them well. Here you can watch FTS13 groups new video about Norway's culture. Enjoy!

In lecture we talked about The iceberg model. That was so true but i have never thought it that way. The iceberg model means at everybody can see small part of you but everything else is hiding. First impression comes when people meet you for the first time. He or she doesn't know anything about you, so how you act makes an image of you.

Personal branding week

Second week is over. Overall feeling of the course is still pretty positive. I am waiting enthusiastically for the progress of the course this fall and i hope i will learn so much new stuff.

At the this week we studied personal branding and marketing communication. At the lecture we went through how we can gain visibility on the job market and social media. We were told about LinkedIn and how to use it. LinkedIn was already familiar to me and I had already done a profile in there. But I just have to add more information about me, my studies and my jobs. In Thursday we talked about marketing communication. About social media channels we getting to know for example Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, Youtube and LinkedIn. I use every day Facebook, Instagram and Youtube. I have never used Twitter or Pinterest but maybe i will someday.

Lecture was useful to me because I did not know everything about how to use it and what i should add. Also what kind of materials I should add.  Now I know it and just have to have time to make my LinkedIn profile ready.

After Mondays lecture our group FTS13 got together. We had to tell strengths on our groups members. We made mind maps and we wrote something of everybody. This was supposed to help us with the pitching. It was fun!

Pitching was already familiar to us. But we had lecture about it. I don't know why because many teachers have talked about it before. Practice makes perfect! We had to make pitch at home and put it in the blog. My video is little bit weird but hope it is good enough. You can find the video below.
